Life without WiFi “Life without Wifi” is the first short film Leon Luo co-directed and filmed in 2013 - 2014. As a leading member of the UNA Youth Film Project, Leon and his friends won a $1000 Grant Award from UBC University Neighbourhood Association and with UNA’s support, they started the project in October, 2013.
The film focuses on the overwhelming dependence youth have on Internet nowadays. Through the two separate story lines, the film aims at inspiring social discussion on the necessity of WiFi in our daily life. At the end of the film, there are also interviews on people’s opinion on WiFi. |
Behind the Scene - Life Without WifiWith no prior film-making experience and lack of professional equipments, the team followed through the process of film-making and made the best out of it. Finally, in May 2014, they released their film in the 2014 Youth Week at UBC Old Barn Community Centre. Although having no experience in film-making, all the project members enjoyed the process of making the film.
